Celebrate All Mothers

Mothers and their children living their lives together in peace is one of the most beautiful gifts we can give the animals here at the sanctuary.

Little Hill Sanctuary is home to many mothers and children who would have never had the chance to know one one another and grow old together if we had not brought them to the safety of the sanctuary. This Mother’s Day honor your own mother by sponsoring the care of the mothers here at the sanctuary as a gift to her.

Mama Ellis was liberated from a 4-H Dairy operation with her young son Finn. Ellis is considered quite petite for her breed and was therefore not considered ideal for dairy production. Finn being born a boy without the ability to produce milk was considered waste. These facts that made them unwanted by 4-H ultimately saved their lives as they were surrendered to the sanctuary. Not long after her arrival Mama Ellis gave birth to another beautiful boy named Willow. This family is incredibly bonded and it has been an honor to watch them grow together in peace.

Marigold was liberated from backyard slaughter along with her mother Clover. When Marigold was just a baby herself she birthed two beautiful boys Sprout and Leaf. Mama Marigold was so young that she struggled with milk production and was unable to nurse both of her boys. We bottle fed Sprout and helped Leaf with supplemental feedings until both boys grew big and strong. They are now thriving as they grow together in safety.

Judy was saved from slaughter with her daughter Liza. We were so happy to be able to keep this family together and give them a place to live the lives they deserve free from harm. Not long after they arrived at the sanctuary it became clear that both girls were expecting babies. A few months later Judy brought three healthy triplets into this world and her daughter welcomed her own daughter. This rescue resulted in six lives saved. It has been an absolute joy to experience this family growing and thriving here at the sanctuary.
