Hope
Volunteer, supporter, and incredible animal activist Kathie heard a crow outside her office door in the middle of Salinas.
When she went outside to investigate she found Hope, tired, cold, and hungry. There are so many roosters dumped even in cities like Salinas. Many of them suffer predator attacks, hunger, and even frost bite. But Kathie was determined not not let that become Hope’s story.
So she spent days out in the parking lot befriending Hope. She brought him food and water daily and waited patiently until this boy began to trust her. At night she would attempt to capture him while he roosted. But he alluded her for over a week.
Kathie did not give up on Hope though. She went back to her office parking lot every day even on weekends spending hours just letting him know she cared.
Finally Hope began to feel safe so when Kathie set out a crate with blueberries for treats he wandered in and she along with her partner and follow activist Adam were able to secure him and bring him here to the sanctuary where he will never be hungry, cold, and at risk again.
