Miles

Our local shelter reached out to us about a very aggressive pig. No one could get near him. Not even shelter staff, let alone potential adopters. He needed to be with humans who could handle him safely.

As soon as we welcomed Miles we noticed something about his aggression. He was much more calm with Helbard than Camilla. He even sought out comfort and affection from Helbard while continuing to snap at Camilla. It was clear that he felt much more comfortable with male caregivers.

When we talked with the shelter staff about this they let us know that Miles had been very well cared for by an elderly man but when Miles outlived his human he became aggressive with his female family members and was then turned over to the largely female shelter staff who he was equally aggressive with.

Then we understood that Miles was grieving and we are so grateful to be here to help him through his grief.
