Last August was a very scary month for the sanctuary. We were surrounded by three different fires on all sides, overwhelmed with smoke, and caring for numerous animals evacuated from other sanctuaries as well as private homes. Fortunately we did not have to evacuate. But we may not be so safe this year. With the most dangerous fire conditions we have ever experienced here at the sanctuary, we are preparing for the worst while remaining hopeful for the best. We have been stock piling emergency supplies, gathering crates and other necessities for emergency transport, and organizing files for every single animal who requires specialized care, medications, and a restricted meal plan to share with temporary care givers in an emergency situation. We will do everything within our power to keep the animals safe no matter how dangerous the circumstances become but we need your support to be as prepared as we possibly can be for an emergency fire evacuation.
