The sanctuary is home to many pigs both big and small. And when the sanctuary was flooded for three months with relentless rain, wind, and winter storms their habitat was absolutely destroyed. Their pasture is a mud pit. Their fences are falling down. And their barn is barely standing. We need to completely rebuild this area and we need to do it now.

Because pigs are so smart, so strong, and some of them so big, they can be a challenge to enclose and house. Their fences need to be stronger. Their shelters need to be sturdier. And although the piggies do enjoy a splash in the mud they cannot live in pastures where they sink with every step.

We have a lot of work to do to make this area safe and secure for our piggies once again. And we need your help to make it happen.

We first need to remove all of the deep mud from their pastures. Then we need to add gravel, pellets, wood chips, and clean dry soil to stabilize the ground beneath their hooves. Once the ground is stable we need to rebuild all of the pasture fences. Not only did many large tree branches crash into the fences during the storms. But even where the fences were not damaged  by debris they are unstable because the ground they are built into is nothing but mud. And then we need to rebuild the piggy barn that was destroyed in the floods.

All of this will be incredibly expensive. And we need your help to make it happen for the piggies.
